Car stuck in open loop.
My car (1995 S6 AAN motor) has custom software, injectors, turbo, etc. from the previous owner. I am having a hard time getting it to pass emissions. It seems that it is stuck in open loop. VAGCOM says the lambda control is stuck at 1.00 when it should fluctuate. I am not sure if it is a problem with something like the MAF sensor or if it is software. (car warms up fine and the ECU is reading the coolant temp just fine.) Often cars are tuned in open loop so the ECU doesn't change the mixture during tuning. How is closed loop disabled and could it be disabled in my car? Is it just by disconnecting the O2 or is it done in software? I am unable to find any info about my software from the previous owner.
