Default Changing the tiptronic shift points

I just bought a 2002 A6 2.7T, and in Tiptronic mode it shifts from 1st into 2nd before I push the stick. Is there a way to change the shift point to a higher rev like 4000 - 5000 to force it to stay in 1st longer? Or will the car just adjust to my driving style over time?

You can have the 1st to 2nd shift recoded with a Vag-com tool. Its just a code, No chip needed..

Can anyone confirm which would be the best way to go? Just punching in a code sounds like a better, less invasive or warranty-negating way to go than changing a chip would be...
