Check Engine Light Question

i recently put GFB BOV in my 2001 a4 1,8t
and coincidentally got check engine light came up after about a week of driving..
is it possible to have that thing light up b/c of the BOV?
i'm bringing it to the dealer tomorrow but i'm afraid they may not do anythig about it (or refuse to) pointing their finger at the BOV..

It is possible that the BOV is causing the light...

I'm no expert, but I believe it will cause you to run very rich and this can damage your Oxygen sensors.

Like I said, I'm no expert though.
