Default compression test...

Sup guys,

possible bad news... or an excuse for new bottom end~

compression test:
clyinder - psi - w/ oil (psi)
1 - 163 - 185
2 - 130 - 160
3 - 90 - 140
4 - 130 - 135

valves seem alright, but rings seem like they're leaking. I checked this today after finding a cracked spark plug (IK22) in cyl# 2 & 3. I'm going to RC engineering to get my injectors checked up. Any other inputs or tips? thanks~

Engine Mods: '01 A4 1.8tqm. PES T28 kit (w/ 390 injectors), Spp Zflow Fmic, EFK, UR pulley, HKS air filter, HKS EVC4, Milltek exhaust, EVO hi-flo cat, Iridium IK22, ECS adjustable FPR.

I was boosting roughly 20psi. a/f meter reads about .87 at richest point.

Default I have a stupid question - no offense!

Did you do the compression test in order of 1-4 and not unplug your ECU or fuel pump fuse??

I had that problem once - I think that as kept cranking the engine - the cylinders got washed with gas...

I found it too coincidental that the #s went down as I tested them and realized I forgot to pull the fuel pump fuse. The results were fine after that... 185s all the way around.

This may not apply to you since you also did do it w/ oil and #3 seems lower than the rest. Anyway - just a thought...

Default Also, as Dave pointed out in a similar thread, it is important to make sure you have a good charge

on the battery (charger) as that too will show a reduction in compression step by step like that.

Default i unplugged the injectors when i did the test, and batt if fine...

thanks for the tips, anyone else have some advise? I think this could have also happened from a bad tank of gas. Anyway, I'll find out about the injectors conditions on monday, and try some higher octane too (for now). Any tips on where to get parts for bulletproof bottom end? thanks audi freaks~
