Differential Question
Hi all,
sorry if this is the wrong forum but i've seen cars (s4 b8) with locking and sports differential but isn't quite sure the difference. Is it correct to assuming locking differential locks both wheels on the axle while sports different can lock only one wheel?

Sports differential haves planetary gearing etc on each side of differential (on each drive axle) to allow outcurve wheel to spin faster to help the curve exit acceleration.
These days locking differential way too abused word by manufacturers and can either mean that the locking is by differential itself (limited slip) or by brakes (through ABS system).
