Default To maintain balance, upgrade both front & rear

Movit takes vehicle weight into consideration when determining which kits it will use on a particular car. The S4 works well with 993tt brakes up front and 996/Boxster S brakes (or even the larger 993tt rears)in the rear. The stock brake master cylinder will easily accomodate the larger calipers.

Many companies do not offer a rear kit for these cars because of the difficulty in dealing with the parking brake requirement. Because all of our Audi kits are TUV approved, we must ensure the parking brake works as intended. Movit uses a dedicated caliper (like the Ferrari 360) as the parking brake.

Default Article seems a tad alarmist.(m)

They talk about racing conditions, but on a track you always brake in a straight line (good practice anyway). Under hard braking the weight goes to the front, storing kinetic energy in the front springs while the rear un-wieghts. All the grip is now in the front, so as long as the front has most of the bias, everything's good.

The rear shouldn't get twitchy at this point unless your hands do. I've upgraded my front pads only and done track events and haven't noticed a thing. I think you have to increase the performance of F brakes quite a bit further to cause something noticeable. You may even want this if you are at a track conducive to trail-braking.

Not asleep yet? The issue they may be getting at in the article is mixing race and street pads which become more/less effective at different temperatures. Street pads work cold/fade very hot, race pads don't work cold/work well hot.

I'm probably stating the blindingly obvious by now so I'll just shut up...
