Default Fuel control

Has anyone installed an Apex-i S-AFC into and A4? If so, I'd like to discuss it with you.

Thanks.

Default Yes, it can be done. I'll be doing mine with the new engine.

You'll need the rpm, throttle, Maf, power & ground signals right. Apexi super afc won't work on a dbw, since it can only manipulate one signal(MAF or MAP) by what I know. I'll post a thread when I do mine if you can wait until January

Cool - I figured as much. Is there a pinout of the ECU/ECU harness online somewhere?

Thanks.

Yeah, that pretty much sums it up. One of my roommates put an S-AFC in his 90q12v (he hasn't had time to tune it).

Gotta spend time with the Bentley wiring diagrams, and a DMM, to find the proper connections.

I've already done my homework, as far as the wiring diagrams go. I'll just need to do the probing to check the signals prior to hook-up, and see which throttle signal I'll need to use. Audi's use two signals from the throttle, and they criss-cross so to say....I'm guessing I'll need the one that goes low to high?

I can't remember which signal we found worked best for the throttle position, but I do know that we used the cam position sensor for the RPM.

It took several hours of me trying to get at plugs under the hood with probes connected to the SAFC, and someone else working the "go" pedal and watching the SAFC display, before finding proper signals. Hopefully, it will be worth it when the engine is finished being built...

Default Great

If one of you guys who's been there & done it would do a writeup of the procedure, I'm sure it'd go far to help out your a4 brethren.

Is there an ECU pinout diagram out there? Anyone? Buehler?

Contact me off the list if you are interested in the pinout for the S-AFC
I have one installed on a 1995 Audi V-6 12V Hitachi ECU
