GIAC Chip power loss.... PLS Help!
I have a 98 1.TQMS GIAC,K&N,UUC,Sebring Exhaust. I have had the chip (thru Dynospotracing) for some time and been very happy with its perfomance gains. I recently installed a 3" custom exhaust with a Sebring muffler at the end (about amonth ago). For past few days the car's performance seems to have changed. Before the engine would pull hard to about over 6000rpm. Now, as soon as I hit 5000rpm the turbo and engine seem to have difficulty pulling it seems like that the chip has "reprogrammed" to cut its boost to 5000rpm. Is this possible? Do I have a worn Bypass valve or Diversion Valve? I popped one of my hoses before but you can here air surging here it doesn't see to be hose problem. Pls. Help! The car runs fine till 5000rpm. I Miss the old GIAC chip power! Any sugestions or tips would help!

Info..
Its hard to say what the problem would be. Adding a 3 inch exhaust would not make you loose HP. It would only help.
I would check the BPV. Pull the vac line of the motor and suck on it. It should hold pres.
Try reseting the ECU with a Vag.

Re: Info..
Thanks Clark. I'll try that out. Will disconnecting the ECU for 15min be the same as reseting the it w/ a VAG tool? BTW Do you have the your BPV (Turbo5) in stock? When will your credit card service be active ? -Richie

My car is doing THE SAME THING!
I'm going to swap out the stock DV from a pal's car and see if that makes a difference. If so- I might spring for an aftermarket DV.
Or trade the damn thing in on a car that won't fall apart.
