Default gt25r update2..

the engine compartment is all done. if its needed, i will add another fuel pump and hook up split sec MAF controller, but only if needed.

i am missing about 4feet of exhaust at the end of the car. i added a muffler in the middle of exhaust system to see how loud it was and that 3" is loud. i guess that last 4feet of exhaust will be another muffler.

there are little things that anoys me, such as cd deck stuck, subwoofer needs to be redone, the headlight housing gets fogged inside. i guess i will have to remove them sooner or later and clean it out with soap or anti fog thing.

i ran the engine for 10min today just idleing and reving to read values from vag-com. i see white smoke coming out of the engine - but it looks like the kind of smoke you see when you just had your car washed and the water evaporating. anyhow i am not too worried about it - i will be worried if there is a lot of smoke coming out. and what is it with the coolant? i fill it up, and few min later they circulate around the car and it needs more coolant. it doesn't take a lot of coolant at once, but little bit then it keeps asking me to add bit more. i've added about 4 times so far, wish it was like oil - just add once and thats it.

With pipes that close to the engine I would have Ceramic coated them to keep the heat out.

Default Nice....

do you have any hump hoses in there? The ones that are designed to flex for when the motor moves? If not, you may want to get some.

The coolant thing is normal, when I first started mine up, it would overheat because of air pockets. I had to start it up, let it run, shut it down, fill it up, repeat.

Adding a tail pipe will be a big help. If your exhaust ends under the car, then it reverbs underneath and it's really annoying.

Default thanks..

no flex hose, but for the intake, there is a 4-3" transition silicone followed by a 4" 90degree silicone (its a huge *** elbow), which moves quite a bit. and generally i can't really see where it would benefit a flex hose, maybe at the throttle body - time will tell and when i see damaged hose i know thats where flex goes.

i got one more muffler to add.. its from magnaflow, i hope it works to quiten down the sound. the centerpiece of the xhaust, i used a muffler as well - now the car has a clearance of 2.5" from the ground with that muffler used as centerpiece. i can not lower the car, and i hope it doesnt hit speed bump...

no insurance yet for the car, will probably get later this week.

the batt doesn't seem to hold charge, might have to get a new one.

was just driving up my driveway today (no public road till insurance) and i managed to get 3000rpm on the first gear (driveway is only about 120feet with 12% incline. i only saw 4psi. k03 would have been something like 10psi or little bit more.

Default actually i measured the hood clearance...

before laying the pipings. i have about 1/2" left with all the pipings. was pretty close and tight.

i had to trim part of the engine bay because the turbo intake is 4". besides that wasn't that bad.

Default its not neccesarry. but you could if you really had that much time and money.

the passing air in the pipes cools them down.

Default and the passing air absorbs the heat....

leading to higher intake temps.
