Help! boost question
Ok I have a 97 1.8 TQ, apr chip. In 1st i hit about 8 psi, 2nd about 10-12, 3rd about 14, 4th and 5th i will see 20 psi spikes. Is this right? I read a post about guys hitting 15-20 in every gear.

Anything you think i should look at/replace? My vacuum at idle is always about 20 maybe a little lower or higher at times. I bought a n75j valve, maybe that will help. Could i have a vac leak or leak somewhere even if iam idling at 20 on the vac meter? Also does your guage/turbo climb up to say the 15, then hold then slowly back off? like I floor it it climbs climbs, climbs, then say it hits 12, then drop to 11, then back to 12, then redline.

It all sounds fine to me. I sit at 20-22Hg at idle. The boost drops off because the K03 turbo is too small to be able to continue producing 15psi to redline. So the boost dropoff is normal too.
I dont think you have any issues to fix, but i think the n75j valve will get you on boost sooner and peak a little higher. The boost will always drop off until you get a bigger turbo.
