Higher coolant temps.
Well I just changed my timing belt, water pump, belts, EFK and thermostat this weekend and now my coolant temps are reading a bit higher. The gauge is just off of top dead center. I'm sure it's not that big of a deal but I'm wondering why all of a sudden it's running a bit high now. Any ideas?

It's because the fan isn't running all the time....
with the stock fan, it's always running and pulling air through the radiator.
With the EFK, it only turns on when it gets hot enough, so a lower temp fan switch is a good idea. I got mine from Neuspeed.

I have the Derale adjustable thermostat.....
which has the fan always running when it's at operating temps.
I thought the stock fan was only supposed to come one when the car was in traffic? Right now I have the fan running all the time but I didnt think that was the best thing to do. Thought it should only come one when the car is not moving in traffic. Maybe you can help me understand this a bit.

its not like the AC compressor because thats a switched pulley. fan is viscous type
so its spinning %100 of the time, how fast relative to the drive belt driven pulley is dependent on the temps
