Was wondering if anyone has heard of or had any experience with hypertech programers. They are said to have 5 or 6 different modes for vehicles ECU sport, econ, haul, etc.
The programer is for domestic vehicles as far as i can tell My friend is thinking of purchasing on for his 99 chevy surb model number is 390-202 I found it at www.performanceintl.com

They've been around forever (mid '80s), and their stuff is as good as anything out there. I used them on a couple of Corvettes (L98 and LT-1), and in each case the chip made a measurable difference. Not huge, mind you, but measurable in A-B-A-B consecutive drag strip passes. Essentially a one mph and a "fat" tenth improvement. The current "Power Programmer" series allows for adjusting shift points, shift firmness and other things in addition to the basic timing-and-fuel modifications, and it works very well, if I can believe Car & Driver (chip comparison in the last year or so) and one of my sons, who has a Power Programmer in his recently-acquired '96 Impala SS. You know, the one that if it came in white would look best with a peg-legged guy clutching a harpoon on the hood, wrapped in ropes. :-)
