Default I need some battery relocation Tips...

I am in the process of moving my battery to the trunk.

I have 2 gauge wire,4 gauge wire, and the left over stock wiring.

Question is:

Do I run TWO seperate lines from the trunk?
One 2 gauge to the starter?
and one 4 gauge to the fuse box?

Or can I just run one two gauge wire and find some type of part that will allow me to transfer the 2 gauge into two seperate 4 gauge wires?

Does some one know of a part like this? Thats safe? Would this be wise? What about excess load?

Any comments ?

Thanks
The Devil ;-)

Default Just know you won't pass tech at a drag strip unless...

NHRA rules require a shut off switch out side of the car when ever the battery is moved to the trunk.
It is section 8.3 of the book
find the rule book here...

it won't matter much if you are not worried abouot drag racing, but is nice to know if you have thought about it or already do.

Default An update:

Well.. after alot of dillegent work it's getting there..

Small things become big tasks in a hurry.

15ft of 2 gauge wire now travel from the trunk..and neatly up the passenger side, throught a stock hole in the fire wall. Shockly this was just enough.. I mean.. just enough.. to where I am slighltly nervous about where the wire is in relationship to the downpipe, But I won't know exactly till I drop the motor in. But it does reach the start position. I held up the starter to the tranny to check and it seems fine. We will see a little later down the road.

I also made a new tranny/engine ground out of 4 gauge wire that now will reach the the passenger side frame rail.

I will be seemingly running 4 gauge wire up the driver side now to the fuse box. I would run it completly there but I have a dilemna where it's rather difficult to find a terminal/Connection that matches the stock piece that will fit a 4 gauge wire. Seemingly I will be using the stock fuse to battery wiring which is around 8 gauge, and meet it up to the 4 gauge with a fuseable link. Not sure on this thought.. Have some stuff to figure out.

Default I like

<center><img src="http://members.verizon.net/~vze4phja/images/fuses.jpg"></center><p>to have a shut-off inside and outside. By the time you get unbelted, and out to shut it off, you could have some serious problems.

You can see on the switch there is a cable through one end. It goes through a tube up to a mount by the windshield on the outside. Pulling the T-handle outside flips the switch on the inside.

Default For your Coupe right?

Where are you mounting the battery? I was going to put mine right behind the rear seat on the passengers side, but that happens to be right over the fuel tank and I will need to rig something so the battery box bolts don't put a hole in the fuel tank.

Also, you can use something like this:
http://www.knukonceptz.com/detail.asp?product_id=PB2044
to run 1 wire from back to front and split it off in the front. I am using 1/0 gauge wiring.

Default way in the back.....

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/48837/dsc00394.jpg"></center><p>I got this Idea from aaron(ma) swap.
That's his setup.. The shop that did it is only 40 miles away from me.. I am tempted later down the road to have them do the same to mine.

Makes sense to put it there.. Something a simple minded 22 year old can do ;-). Life is nice when at least 95% of the swap I will be able to do myself.. I can't weld yet. So I will have to get the downpipe modified.
