Input on battery relocation?

Input on battery relocation?

Anyone relocate their battery to the trunk, and are in the SCCA? I can't find my rule book to look up what it says, if anything, about the relocation and regulations in doing so.

The marine box setup is half the cost of the NHRA/IHRA approved setup, $42 vs $90+. Also going with an Optima "RedTop" when the batt. gets moved.

Any thoughts?

i know it matters in NASA autox, it shouldnt in SCCA SM class

btw have you seen the billet batt holders made specifically for redtops

cool but $$$

Thanks, kinda what I figured. I found a 2001 rule book under my bed (good place for it), can't find the '02 and don't have an '03 yet. Looks like I'll be ordering something else. Anyway, the '01 makes no mention of battery relocation anywhere. Which is good, because two objects can't occupy the same place. ;-)

And no, I haven't seen the billet holders for RedTops yet. Probably too much $$$ for me though.

Car is going to end up in EP or EM, hopefully it'll have enough power to be competative...
