Default Intake?

I am looking to port my 99 A6 2.8Q and have been told that if i port, i will need to upgrade the intake. I thought that Audi's sucked plenty of air already. Any advice appreciated.

Default Normally...........

when the cylinder heads are ported, so are the other item which connect to those heads, to gain the full effect of the porting job! ;O)

Its a very good idea to port the intake manifold, to atleast "match" the larger ports of the heads.

Also every component upstream, & downstream can & should be modified, to handle the larger amounts of air, the heads could handle after their porting. ;O)

If all you do is port the heads, and nothing else, your gains will be small.
