The latest pics.......
The start of the downpipe, the turbo outlet pipe, and turbo inlet pipe, complete with MAF flange:
<a href="http://johnbaas.dyndns.org/2point0/plumbing_1.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://johnbaas.dyndns.org/2point0/plumbing_1_lo.jpg"></a>
You can see the flange a little better here, along with the BPV connections. I need to add a flex hose on the outlet pipe:
<a href="http://johnbaas.dyndns.org/2point0/plumbing_2.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://johnbaas.dyndns.org/2point0/plumbing_2_lo.jpg"></a>
The filter location. I think I may try to move the AC thingy (dryer/receiver maybe?) out of the way to make more room (probably when I put in a FMIC)
<a href="http://johnbaas.dyndns.org/2point0/plumbing_3.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://johnbaas.dyndns.org/2point0/plumbing_3_lo.jpg"></a>
Engine shot

Closer shot of the crankcase breather and ignition module (POS) and my ugly homemade bracket
<a href="http://johnbaas.dyndns.org/2point0/engine_done_2.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://johnbaas.dyndns.org/2point0/engine_done_2_lo.jpg"></a>
You can kind of see the downpipe here. If you use an external wastegate, or a better output flange, it will be a straighter shot.

And, of course, the gauges to keep an eye on it all:

I got a small piece of 1" tubing
cut a small hole in the turbo in and out pipes, and welded it in. Then run 1" i.d. hose to the BPV
Here's a quick diagram I whipped up:
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/12130/bpv_plumb.jpg">
Just find a spot where there's some room to run the hose, mark the pipes, and weld the tubes in.
I don't remember what the consensus was on the BPV orientation. I think I have it right on the drawing (and my car)
I don't think it really matters, one way will help it open faster (the way in the drawing), the other way will help keep it closed under boost.

John.. Are you concerned about excessive heating under the hood?
Its a bigger turbo so I was just curious. I know Audi puts that heat dissapating fabric on the stock pipes. Are you going to do something similar? Otherwise I am very impressed and patiently awaiting some VAG-COM numbers.
