Default N249.. any takers?

My DV is sometimes staying open during WOT runs.. (ex. WOT in 6th gear at 3k, while boost is at 19psi).. I originally thought the system was opening it up because of the boost spike, but Im pretty sure it isn't (I installed an MBC in parallel with the N75 last night to release any excess pressure over 20psi).. To check and see if my N249 valve is going nutty, or maybe the system is a little screwy, Id like to hookup the DV directly to the manifold pressure line and elimante the N249 as a potential problem..

The question...
Can I completly remove the N249 valve from the system and replace it with a T-connector? This way I don't have to change any of the lines to the DV.. I can keep the stock line, and all I have to do is remove the valve (if you look closely at the pic, there is a line coming in from the passenger side.. then the out going line has a T connector.. from the T, one line goes to the DV, the other 112 valve)

With the N112 valve wired into that little mess of hoses, Im just a little worried that maybe the N112 depends on an alteration in the pressure signal).. If the N112 can run with a simple signal from the manifold line, then I would be fine.. Any ideas? Thoughts?

Default Perhaps one of the guys who've done this will pop on and correct me if I'm recollecting wrongly but

I think they've found the valve neeeds to remain and you need to loop the connections or you'll get a DTC.

Default Here's how it's done

There is a vac line that goes from your intake manifold to the N249 valve and then another line from the N249 to your DV.

What you will want to do is take your DV and run it directly to the intake manifold, and the now open two legs of the N249 valve can be looped back on eachother.

Default Thank you very much.. :)

I guess I was going to do a little more then needed by removing the valve .. : o Not too bad.. so a basic T-connector and just loop em.. thanks a lot bret..

Default no hoses really required

move the bpv line to the intake mani nipple, then move the line that used to connect to the intake manifold up to the other side of the N249 where the BPV line used to be.

Simple Except for getting those damned little stock crimp on clamps off the bottom of the intake manifold where the N249 is...they sure don't make it easy to get to sometimes do they...

Default Actually.. I can't do what he said.. I thought he said loop the

line from the N249 to the DV..

<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/25882/vacum_line_diagram_225.jpg">

From the diagram.. Line #1 is from the intake manifold which goes to a T connector and one signal goes to the N249.. the other to the N112.. Valve.. You see what Im talking about.. ?

Default Here is a real life shot of that mess..

<img src="http://images2.fotki.com/v2/photos/3/30429/100549/BoostGaugeInstall003a-vi.jpg">

The hose with the arrow is coming from the intake manifold.. then if you follow it right after it goes through the holders you can kinda see a clamp, and thats where it t's off.. One line going to the left side of the N249 valve.. and the other going to the drivers side into that round black thing (the N112) valve.. after that the two meet up and go to the vacuum reservoir..
