N75 replacements?
So I have this busted Greddy Profec-B Spec II EBC laying around which has a perfectly good solenoid and I'm wondering if anyone has thought of or attempting doing such a thing before.
Would there be any benefits to wiring up the Greddy solenoid in place of the N75 and see how well the ECU can control it?

Brent! long time no chat..... ahem, i don't think it can use it....
just guessing that the "signals" to the solenoids would be different...
what about wiring up the Profec-B inplace of the N75??? I know there are a number of VW 1.8T guys running MBC's either piggybacking the N75(to turn boost down a bit) or in their place(I did this on my mk4)
if u do wire it up, lemme know how u like it, i've been strongly thinking about gettin the spec II because it matches my GReddy turbo timer perfectly

Dude, read my post
I said the Profect B Spec II I have is broken, IE, it stopped working after about a month of having it hooked up. When it was working it was OK but I still think boost controllers suck in general on a DBW car, just due to the fact that the throttle plate opens up way sooner than when you nail the gas.
I'd rather keep the finer control of my boost via the throttle pedal so I'm going to hook up the N75 again with the MBC inline to keep it from spiking so much.
Main problem is **** CA gas and lots of carbon deposits which makes the timing retard which makes the turbo spool harder/faster, which makes more detonation...
yadda yadda, you guys know the story.

whoa, brain fart... sorry bout that
but yea, a couple friends are running boostvalve.com MBC's inline to limit boost to around 20-21psi on GTIs w/ good results... it just took a while of dialing it in JUST right
