Need some help...
I've posted this in the general A4 forum, but not help was given. Hopefully, someone here will be able to help me.
I'm trying to install a turbo timer and I'm one wire away from completing this project. I read the FAQ concering this subject matter and I'm stuck about which 14ga. wired to splice into for the 12V constant for the turbo timer. I was able to gain access to the back of the ignition switch by removing the lower steering wheel panel and there are TWO 14ga red wires coming out of the switch and NOT one as described in the FAQ. There is one beside the black 10ga wire and another close to the red 22ga wire. Anyone have any ideas about which to splice into? Any 2001 1.8T owners do this mod themselves that has successfully completed this particular mod?
Also, I noticed that the fuse similar to the one marked in the FAQ is the fuse for the instrument cluster and and other accecories for my 2001 A4 1.8TQ. Is this right? The fuse for the anit-theft system is located in another position and has a 14 amp fuse in it. Does that mean that the turbo timer FAQ will not apply here? Can anyone here shed dome light on this situation? Please help. I really want to do this myself and not pay someone else to manhandle my car.
