Neuspeed chip question
2 years ago, I chipped the engine of my 1998.5 Audi A4 1.8T with the Neuspeed chip , but today, I feel that the engine does not feel as powerfull than when I got the chip (especially when I am accelerating from a stop, when I got the chip, I feel it used to push more in the back !)
Is it because I got use to it, something else is wrong with my engine or is it because the dealer re-flashed my cpu to the original program as some people said could happen ?
One way to know, would be to see if the rev limiter is back to factory specs or still to the new limit set by the Neuspeed chip.
Could someone comment on the fact that the chip could have been re-flashed and what is the original and new rev limit with the Neuspeed chip.
Thanks,
Pierre

Could be any of the above
Have you replaced your DV? They have been known to go and need replacement. Have you tried disconnecting your ECU and letting it reset? Or you could have been flashed , but highly unlikely. If not maybe you're just used to it.

The first thing you want to do is pull the ecu out and open it to make sure the new chip is in it.
If it is this will reset the ecu anyway because the ecu tend to learn what the motor is doing and pulls timing and boost back after a while if the car tends to ping. If the power is still not there after you do that then I will say to check the BPV or use a boost gauge to see what boost levels you are getting.

Re: Neuspeed chip question
Turbo Freak, I had the same question a few months back
and found the problem was my fouled plugs. Bought the
Denso Iridium IK20's ( $11.80 ea. ) and it really
brought back the new chip performance feeling.
You should get a boost gauge too.
