If im running a pes t28 kit on a 97 a4 would i need new programming in order to use their FMIC? or is the car anaffected by this because of the chip already installed by pes for the turbo kit?
im afraid of it dieing into limp mode land.... ahhhh!

what chip version do you have? i had the FMIC chip then i sent back my regular chip for an upgrade
which returned to me with the same version number (P44MA39) of the FMIC chip so i'm thinking it may have become standard to newer kits

Re: You can do either. Adding a fmic to the kit will just help longer driving time
im not talking about a chip to take full advantage of the fmic (although it would be nice), im afraid of the car going into limp mode

The car will not go into limp mod if you add a fmic to your T28 setup.
Actual most of the chips they have tuned so far were done so with 91 octane and a fmic.
BTW your 97 should not go into limp even if you add a fmic, you might see a slight drop in boost pressure at the intake manifold but that is all. It wont go into limp because the non dbw cars dont have a boost pressure sensor in the IC tube like the 2000+ dbw cars have.
