Default You can do either. Adding a fmic to the kit will just help longer driving time

since the stock SMIC will be heat soaked. You can also ask PES if they have a chip tuned for a FMIC.

Default what chip version do you have? i had the FMIC chip then i sent back my regular chip for an upgrade

which returned to me with the same version number (P44MA39) of the FMIC chip so i'm thinking it may have become standard to newer kits

im not talking about a chip to take full advantage of the fmic (although it would be nice), im afraid of the car going into limp mode

Default The car will not go into limp mod if you add a fmic to your T28 setup.

Actual most of the chips they have tuned so far were done so with 91 octane and a fmic.

BTW your 97 should not go into limp even if you add a fmic, you might see a slight drop in boost pressure at the intake manifold but that is all. It wont go into limp because the non dbw cars dont have a boost pressure sensor in the IC tube like the 2000+ dbw cars have.

Default If you have a 1997 Audi A4 you are a throttle by cable...

not drive by wire. You shouldn't be going into limp mode unless your car had a problem to begin with.
