Default Pulling the Trigger - Big Turbo Time.....

Well I pretty much have everything sorted on my car now: Clutch, Front Mount, Brakes etc...

Nothing else left to do really other than bolt on the big huffer. ;-)

I am leaning strongly toward a Garrett GT25 Rayhall Special with a LucasGChips manifold with external wastegate, injectors, lines etc... with a Autronic computer for tuning.

I thnik the above set-up should be good for around 350 horses when tuned.

Any feedback or comments, suggestions would be appreciated, along with anything to look out for when going down this path....

Default Why spend $$$ on autotronic and stick to a smallish GT25 or GT28?

If you are going complete standalone you should either look at a GT28RS for great area under the curve (figure ~300whp with great low end response), or a GT30 for a big hit up top...or even a GT28/35 hybrid.

Cheers,
Sameer

Default That's the same setup as me..

except my turbo is much bigger and I have internals. =) Good choice, I'm still waiting on my injectors..last thing that I need and the car is done. One more thing, if you are DBW you will need to get a non-dbw pedal setup, and a throttle body/cable, and you will lose your cluster, your ABS and you can now disconnect your smog pump and use it as a paper weight. =)

Default One more thing to add...

Get all the parts before you start. My cars been in the shop for 7 months trying to source out every damn little part. Trust me on this, get everything before you start. I don't even know what my Audi looks like anymore.

Default hence why my car still runs and yours...

is in the shop :-) whose rods your using, I'm pretty set on using either pauter cromoly or their TI rods. JE for the pistons. (don't know what I'm doing about the crank yet).

Default ...

Pauter rods, JE pistons, and knife edge stock crank. No need for a forged crank, when's the last time you heard someone breaking a crank. I'm shooting for 500hp no nos. Its very doable.
