Default No, but....(more)

won't let you over-rev the engine by your failure to manually shift at redline, and won't let you downshift if it would be dangerous...

Default what about if your chip ?

yeah i rev it up to 6500 and didn't pass that area it stayed below redline mark.....so i guess you have to shift since the computer wont do it......yeah i tried downshifting to 2nd while racing and it didn't work cause i was on the freeway LoL

Default Yes, ...

With full throttle, the Tiptronic will downshift on it's own if can do so without over-revving. Combined with the automatic upshift at redline (rather than rev limiting), the Tiptronic is really nothing more than a "sport" setting for the transmission. IMHO, a bummer.
