Redline question
About how much would all the parts costs?
But as for higher RPM quests, it usually involves stiffer valve springs to return the valves faster, different profile on the cams, solid lifters, and stronger yet lighter, and well balanced bottom end components. Hopefully the timing belt and components are up to the task.
What are your goals? Why not stick to it's useable RPM and increase overall torque?
As far as increasing torque goes, what are the best parts to add/change? I would like to put a PES G2 supercharger on my motor if I can find one.
Other than PES, you'll be looking at custom forced induction, which at that point, would be better to source a used S4 imo, or transplant a 2.7T and custom or S4/A6 ECU and wiring.
Anyways, it all depends on how well balanced the rotating assembly is, bore/stroke ratio has a big influence on how well an engine can breath
There will be a point where the valves will start to float on a stock head, and the more miles on the valvetrain, the earlier they will start to float.
More than likely, you can "safely" increase the RPM limit 500 or so easily, but doesn't mean it will actually do anything.
freeing up the intake and exhaust will need to be done at a minimum.
