Default remus muffler

Does anyone have a remus muffler? If so does it have an annoying noise to it? How much was the installation and do you recommend it? Thanks.

Default annoying noise? you mean drone? not if used with the stock resonator...

Remus among other companies tune their mufflers through a sound chamber eliminating most high frequencies, filtering mid and trying to extract deep low frequencies for each car. Since it's only a muffler, they most likely tuned it to work with the rest of the exhaust left behind. Their goal is to get a throaty sporty sound for each car they apply it on.

[oh yeah, I saw an episode of Remus manufacturing on DW TV, so I'm not really an expert on it ;P]

BTW, I have 2 Remus mufflers already. I originally picked it for style, and I'm quite happy with the sound - despite changing my resonator, and the performance is pretty good too. It's on a 96 A4 12V.

Default no, I don't think that's a Remus brand. Looks nice though, but from the size of that baffle..

it looks loud too.

Mine has 2x90 square tips also, similar to the one one the CEC website link (2nd from front). The baffle is much bigger and has a weird shape - like using up whatever available volume in that muffler space

US distributor (CEC)

Default Re: remus muffler

I Have one installed on my 1.8t A4. It is actually an oettinger muffler that is manufactured by remus. Well at least thats what it says on the box. It has a nice note and mid range is increased. Good looker too.
