Replacing cats with straight pipe?
I have a 1999 Audi A4. Recently, my cats had failed. Being in school, I don't have money to replace, plus not worth it to replace on such an old car.
Now, would removing the cats, and replacing them with a straight pipe be a bad idea? Will back pressure really affect the engine? Will I burn a lot more gas due to the O2 sensor readings?
I am not worried about emission testing, as I do not have to do it for another two years.
