Running lean after chipping (beginner version)
Shortly after chipping my 98.5 1.8TQM, I developed a persistent and recurring MIL. The DTC is always the same: 17544 P1136--Bank1, mixture adaptation add, system too lean. I've reset it many times, but it always recurs soon thereafter. I've had it checked twice by the dealer, without a diagnosis. O2 sensors and cat check out. My inquiries to the chip manufacturer (one of the majors) have not been answered. Just recently I failed emissions. I'm reluctant to have to buy a new ECU and swap while I try to figure out the problem, but I need to pass emissions for registration.
I'd be grateful for any advice or recommendations. TIA

Numerous other possibilities.
I had the same DTC over a period of a few months (and 17536). It turned out to be a bad EVAP canister purge valve.
My Avant was chipped at the time but the stock ECU made no difference.

Step 1) get chip back to stock
Audi cant/wont help with an aftermarket chip in there. If the chip vendor is unresponsive, you need to get back to the stock programming and if the DTC is still occurring Audi can diagnose and correct it. Obviously if the problem disappears going back to the stock chip you have to deal with the chip vendor.
