six speed conversion complete
In a nutshell here are the parts required:
6 speed trans (I used a NueS4)
S4 driveshaft
S4 rear diff
Swap all the CV flanges to 100 mm (or use s4 drive axles and keep the 108 mm CV flanges which will require the larger bearing carrier on the fronts)
S4 right mount
Modify A4 left mount
S4 shift linkage
S4 speed sensor and backup light connectors
6 speed release bearing mechanicals
All other a4 parts will work (including flywheel, clutch, slave cylinder, starter, etc)
If you can get the final drive in the six speed changed to 3.89 you can use the a4 rear diff, or swap the ring and pinion in the A4 diff to 4.11
Cost was $2,800 (not including clutch and short shifter) excluding labor.
3,200 rpm at 80 mph!

I opted to got for RS2 6 speed kit for the 1.8T
It comes also with rear 4.11 gears
Really Strong 1st gear, stronger than in S4 box,
Close ratio as well.
I think the final upgrade price would be about the same as what you spent.
Once again well done..
