So is this pinging?
I switched back to colder plugs (NGK BKR7E) yesterday (thanks RAD69!) so hopefully it will go away. I've had these specific plugs in for about 3k. I've been experimenting and tried the stock spec heat range tri-electrode equivalent to the Bosch Supers F7LTCR.
I'll post pics of the plugs when I get the chance. I'm not good at reading plugs so hopefully you guys may be able to shed some light when I post the pics. I bought them from Sparkplugs.com. However I was told that Advance Auto Parts carry them as well.
There is a local one near me that I will check out sooner or later. I already ordered 12. That should cover me for a year or so.

ouch ouch ouch...sorry, I just saw this. But I'm sure you know the answer. :(
you really need to stay out of it man until you get that taken care of. Detonation that bad will make short work of your motor if you keep it up.

Yeah...I just switched to colder plugs and it was reduced dramatically...
but not eliminated. It only pings a bit on 2nd gear when the IATs go up. Fortunately there is no pinging during my normal and "street aggressive" driving. I'm going to put 100 octane in this week and see what that does.
