Some of my simpler mods - just getting started...
After driving my 2000 S4 for a year, I'm finally getting down to converting it into a track car & Sunday driver (along with my fiance - although I'm more of the car nut than he is). I'm hoping to have the car done in a year
The car is currently in many pieces in my backyard and the interior is completely gutted. Over the next few weeks I'll be doing several major upgrades - the kind that cost a lot of money and aren't really seen. Namely, the clutch/flywheel and getting the engine balanced and blueprinted. In the meantime, I've been doing a couple smaller cosmetic things...
This is my factory shiftknob redone in yellow leather. I took the stock **** apart and used the existing piece of leather as a template and made a new one out of leftover leather from my shift boot (later on). The stitching isn't perfect, but at least it's genuinely handmade.

The boot is a Momo, and I took out the Momo insert for their shift ***** and used the plastic piece from the Audi shift boot. This way, the shift **** screws down the same as stock, and mates up perfectly with the boot like the factory setup. Sorry I don't have a picture of it in the car.

Finally, here's a picture showing my crappy looking dash (what it looks like after the covering and foam padding is removed). I'm showing this so I can later post a finished picture to see the difference. You can see where I've sanded down rough spots on the dash and started to make my gauge pod. I'm keeping the two side vents and the windshield defroster vent. Eventually, the entire dash will be covered by Kevlar and finished (I haven't decide on a color yet). It should look a lot better than now.

That's the idea...
I'm not only taking lots of pictures, but I'm videotaping the major work (like pulling apart the engine). This way I won't get lost when it comes time to reassemble everything. I'll post some pics as I go along, and later (if I ever have time) I'll put them all up on a server somewhere.

could you put this non-performance stuff on another board
Although I like appearance tuning (I'm a Hot Import Nights fan) it doesn't belong on the Performance and Tuning forum.
And AndyA6, I don't think you know quite what dangonay is looking for. I wish I could scare up a picture. He's looking to make a custom color-coded interior. There are some very pretty interiors of this type.
