Squeeky noise

I have this squeeky noise coming from under my hood.Its like a bird,short choppy noise.It only makes that sound when i have my foot on the gas.I tryed changing the belt on front of the engine,it did nothing,it even seemed to get worse.Could it be one of the wheels that the belt go around that is making the noise?My car is a 1993 90 quattro if that helps, 375000 km.

i've had a fan clutch do this.....

try listening from the front of the car with the hood open while someone revs the engine to see if you can localize the sound.

Ive tryed that but there is no sound unless im driving and stepping on the gas.I think it is the pully that is spring loaded so that u can get the belt on and off.The wheel on this arm sounds like there might b some dirt in the bearings and it kind of moves or wiggles back and forth but very slightly.Ive have tryed to oil the wheel with no luck so i guess i have to buy a new one.About 250 canadian with the new belt.This arm also has a small half inch crack near where the spring holds on.I hope this while fix the prob.TY for the help JAFO.
