suspension question
I thought we had a suspension forum here at Audiworld but I couldn't find it. Anyway, here goes.
Pictured is the OEM sport suspension off my 2001 A4 1.8T quattro. I had Konis and H&Rs installed and when I got my original pieces back the little cap from one of the shocks was gone. The mechanic informed me it got destroyed in the removal (which didn't speak well for his work, but there you have it).

So, is that piece functional and necessary? I am thinking about selling this stuff but I don't want to sell somebody a kit that won't work right. If it is a necessary part, can I buy one from the dealer? The other one just slides on and off (see below) and doesn't look like something that would cost a lot of money. Thanks.
