Default telemetry or data logging?

I'd like to see what's going on during laps at track days. Something like: "start logging now", it records engine speed, wheel speed, brake pressure, and throttle angle until I tell it to stop. I have a '98 A4 1.8T. What options do I have?

VWTool will do a lot of that already, although not all of it

Default SnapIt....

...does exactly that. It takes screen shots (anywhere from 1 per second to 25 per second and automatically converts it to an AVI file. You have a user defineable "hot key" that tells the software when to start and stop.

Look on ZDNET for the shareware download.

Default VWTool/car protocol?

I don't suppose the protocol VWTool and the car use to speak to one another is documented anywhere?

Uwe Ross has reverse engineered it, but I'm positive he won't let that out of the bag
