Timing Questions...
So I have an OBDII pocket logger b/c it was free and I can't afford a laptop and VAG-Com yet. In reading the timing values, are postive values "timing advance" and negative values "timing retard"? If not, where is the "Zero position" that I can determine degrees of advance or retard? MY2000 A4 1.8TQM engine code ATW
I just did my TB and now I am in paranoia mode

I think that if your timing was off you'd REALLY be able to tell.
When I did the swap I just made sure to mark everything and line them back up. Took a few goes to get it lined up when adding tension to the belt but it was obvious when you had the belt lined up right. It was either on the right tooth or it wasnt.

yeah I believe those were the numbers I was getting...
forgot my palm pilot at home. I am going to do some runs at Kenny's later tonight. Every now and then I get blips of like -4. Is that knock when it hits negative?

well throw a bottle in!
it sounded like you will be doing some vag-com logs this weekend.
you should to 3rd gear runs to redline and log your MAF, timing, actual boost vs requested.
that should give an idication what could be wrong.
