Turbos

How hard is a Bolt on turbo Swap with intercooler install? can the new turbo runn on the current ecu untill it can be taken to a dino?

A turbo install and a FMIC install are maybe 10% overlap at best. And, if you're asking how hard it is, then it's really hard, you shouldn't be asking, or attempting to do this on your own.

Depending on what turbo you install, yes, it can be run on your OEM ECU. Given the vagueness of your question though, I'd say drive it very nice, as in granny style, so you don't blow anything.

Bolt on is easy if there is no fabbing and the parts are sure to fit.

If the turbo and intercooler are different sizes than your current setup, then you should get a change to the ECU. Obviously the bigger the change in turbo size and intercooler means an equivalently large change to the ECU parameters.

Most upgrades are larger than stock, so they are sold as a kit along with an ECU. The safe answer to your question is NO, the car should not be run with a mis-matched ECU to a new Turbo and intercooler. It could run lean and cause detonation and engine damage.
