Default Upgrade path

Hi All,

I have a 2001 A4, 1.8TQ with Tip. Great car and I am enjoying it. I have installed a GIAC chip for the motor and the Tip and am pleased with the improvement afforded by both.
Because I have a Tip, I am presuming that I am more limited in achieving as much performance as those of you with manual trans. However, can anyone tell me how far I can go with bolt on stuff before the trans becomes a liability? For instance, which turbo upgrade should I consider to be the upper limit in my situation? I have no desire to pull the enginge apart and start modding cams etc., just bolt ons.
I am planning on doing the exhaust next and based upon the customer service I received at AWE, I was planning on sticking with their stuff unless someone feels that is a mistake. I want to do the turbo pretty soon, so any advice is appreciated.

Default I have a TIP too but I have A LOT of mods and the tranny is doing fine so far.

I have about 80,000 miles on the car with a stock tip tranny with a GIAC TIP chip. About 20,000 on it with a 100oct APR chip, EVO intake, and custom 2.5inch exhaust. I also have 2,000 miles which have been with all the mods in my sig.

I honestly dont think youll have much trouble up to stage 3.

Default I too too have a tip...

The k04 with a good program is a good move once your k03 kicks the bucket. For reliability sake, i'd venture to say that S3 is a tad much for the tip.

Exhaust is also required with the k04...

Happy modding!
