Valve reliefs

Valve reliefs
I'm going for an ABA short block Conversion, and I already have a new set of forged pistons for this engine, but they were intended for an VW 8v engine.
I hope someone could suply me drawings of the valve reliefs I'll have to machine on these pistons, for all five valves, because I'l be running bigger cams too.
I don't have any other engine to take one piston apart to check the measurements now, cause I have to use the car and I'll just drop in the new engine when it's done.
I've alredy take some measurements from the Head, but I wan't to know if they are right.
Can anyone help me with the dimensions?

If he's going to be running lower compression, valve reliefs may not be necessary.....
but I agree, we'd definitely need to know specifics to give that advice.
Or, get the right pistons. ;-)

Re: Valve reliefs
the cams are 284intakex286 exaust
valve timing is 36-68 - 76-38
Eurospec part number ECM 109 3704
I'm Also runing a custom adjustable cam sprocket (stil to be machined)
Valves are stock diameter 29.9 ex. and 26.9 int.
I'm thinking about machining a custom adjustable cam gear, so I can dial in the lobe center. (probably I'll only change once or twice, because it will be a PITA to work with)
The pistons aren't by my side right now, to give you all the dish dimensions, but I remenber I checked their volume around 15.5cc.
Pistons are 83.5mm.
I planed on doing a model of the combustion camber using plastic body filler, to check everything....

Re: If he's going to be running lower compression, valve reliefs may not be necessary.....
Yeah, I know it would be much easier to get pistons done specific for this engine, but I live in Brazil, and things get really expensive to import (70% import taxes for anything above US$200 with shipping included)
And these pistons are made here, much cheaper (probably the same price you're used to pay, but without the taxes), and I already have them....
I asked a few people about custom pistons (Iapel, Iasa, Powertech)and they simply doesn't make them.
They told me that I had to buy a set of 8v pistons and machine the reliefs (the same pistons I already had laying around)
A set of Ross, wiseco, or JE pistons would cost at least double the price you pay for them in the US.
And, still talking about the reliefs, even with a low compression piston I'll still need at least the midle intake valve relief.

Re: Would you like a picture of a stock piston? I could get you that.....
Thank you, but I already have a few pictures, from stock and from forged JE and Wiseco, I really need measurements or drawings.
I already disassembled these engines, but I don't have any on hand now.
