Default What went wrong?

i finally got my 2001 A4 1.8t fixed~ after going to several dealers (for check engine light and noise made in engine) and finally fount it.. the problem was the Cam Adjutor and gasket had to be replaced.. costed me a fortune! $1600...
the dealer says it's the chip (GIAC) that did it.. btw, i don't have it in now.. AWE says it isn't the chip.. anyways, the check engine light appeared AFTER i placed BOV installed which was taken out after light came on to BPV.. anyways, the dealer didn't know about BOV that was in there but they know about BPV.. which did it?
anyone have any idea? because i'm actually thinking about installing Cold Air Intake from LLTEK and just wanted to make sure i don't have to spend extra couple grand on this car.. thanks

Default In reference to your N205 cam adjuster....

I find it laughable that any dealership would even insinuate that the cause of an N205 failing is a chip. They're almost as common as coil packs.

There's a few things I'd be concerned about though. Did they check your oil pump? Was there any damage to the camshafts?

Email me this: Your mileage, location, & a better description of how this played out & what was done.
