Default Who's running a Profec-B?

I bought one used, but I can only get ~13psi on the low setting, and ~24psi on the high setting.

Since my clutch is toast (I'm pulling it apart this weekend) I'd like to have someone who already has a Profec-B (original), plug my controller in and see if it works like normal, or if it's bad. Same with the actuator.

If you have one, and have the time to test mine out, let me know.

Thanks.

I would but we live kind of far from each other. Where do you have balance **** set at?
Good luck with the clutch.

Default is that with it turned up maximum? try starting with a low balance-setting

I am using a Blitz DSBC though.
This works great, although my wastegate spring should have some more base-pressure.
I have adjustability all the way from 0.4 to 1.8bar now

Default Running one...

I wish I could see 24psi, The max I'm seeing is 20.

From what I've read, the profec b can only hold 2x the wastegate spring setting. Other controllers can hold more.

Default I had everything cranked to the max....

except the high, which I backed down to ~20 or so until it's better tuned.

I'd pay the shipping if you're interested, then at least I'd have some proof if it's bad or not, then I can get in touch with the guy who sold it to me.

Default How much of a difference do you have between high and low?

Do you have it hooked up as a single port, or dual port?

I called Greddy, and they said the wastegate spring shouldn't matter, and since I had a Tial, I should most definately hook it up as a dual (it runs ~2psi more when hooked up with just one line)

I guess it can't hurt to try another spring, I think mine is ~8psi now.

Default The turbo has an internal wastegate...

It's a GT28R. No second port.

I'll try the low boost setting later today. I think it maxes at ~11psi.

Default Well, I'd like to have more on the low setting...

then use that for normal driving (14psi isn't enough) and the other for water injection/race gas/etc.

Default Ah, well I think yours is working fine. The low boost setting...

even on max doesn't have the same kind of wastegate duty cycle the high boost has. I thought they would both be equal in those terms and you would simply select the desired boost on each one and away you go. Turns out thats not how it works. My A4 would top out at about 16 psi on low boost, exactly what the evo tops out at now. My high boost is good to about 24 psi which I think is a map sensor thing in the unit itself.
