One more thing that may apply to you since you have one of the first 2013 Q5s. There are two separate steering wheel problems, one of them requiering a new steering rack. If you still have your original steering rack you should have it replaced and then apply this sw fix.

My 2013 Q5 3.0T was just in the shop on another matter, but one of the things they did was update the car's steering software. referring to it as:
It's difficult to tell any difference, as I never thought my Q5 felt "notchy" while straight on the freeway -- if anything has changed, the steering doesn't seem as stiff ...

2013 Audi Q5 Problems
I am hoping that there is some kind of firmware upgrade or a way to tune the steering (being that it is electronic).
Anyone out there with 2013 Q5, please chime in. I am really interested to know if there are vehicles that do not seem to have this steering issue. I can only say for now that my vehicle and another one that we test drove at the dealership (to compare steering), both seem to have this steering issue.
