2014 Q5 TDI Price
Usually I hate it when people ask what I paid for my car, but looking at all these online "Fair Purchase Price," I have always wondered how accurate they really are??? If you don't mind sharing your purchase price and options you got on your Q5 TDI to do a little analyzing on the accuracy of online pricing, it would be helpful for future purchases. The Q5 TDI Premium Plus, Daytona Gray, S-Line, Sport Interior, MMI Plus I priced out on Edmunds and KBB varied between $53k and $54K "fair purchase price" or "true market value".

There's an Audi Club North America discount that's 6% off MSRP. I negotiated 6% off on my 2014 TDI with MMI and Sport Interior package. From what I've gathered, that's likely the best you can do in most cases.

Yea I heard about the ACNA discount. The 6% discount puts the Q5 TDI that I have spec'd in my original post ($55,600 MSRP) for around what KBB says as "fair value" ($52K and some change). I just wonder really how much of a markup is there between what the dealer really paid for the car and MSRP? The "invoice price" that Edmunds had on the one I spec'd was $51k and some change...how accurate is that? The reason I ask is because I was chatting with someone that said they could negotiate a better deal on a Q5 TDI (more than 6%)...has anyone negotiated more than 6% off MSRP on Q5 TDI? I am sure there are some master negotiators out there but I would be surprised that you can negotiate more than that on a very hot commodity car where of you don't buy it, there is someone right behind you to pay what the dealer wants. Are there any Audi Brand Specialists that's a member of Audiworld that could give their input on invoice price for Q5 TDI?

I just placed an order for my first Audi. I ended up ordering a 2014 Q5 TDI premium plus with MMI/Navigation package, sport interior/S line package, B&O sound system, Audi Side asst, and tow hitch. Color is Daytona Gray Pearl with black interior. MSRP with destination was $57,715. We agreed on invoice as the selling price which was $53,748.
This was in Southern California.

True Audi invoice is usually around 7% below MSRP I believe, so K9 Guy is just a little above invoice. I haven't heard of many getting below invoice.
When I was shopping, I looked at a number of different manufacturers and Audi seems like one of the hardest to get a big discount on. Seemed you could get 10% or more off pretty easily on a Mercedes. BMW was closer to Audi, $500 over invoice was usually the best you could do unless there were special incentives going on. If you want a deal, get a Jeep!
Dealer in the DC area does 7% under invoice typically...

The ability to negotiate a price better than, say the ACNA 6% discount, is dependent on various factors including location, local competition, dealer allocations, model scarcity, current inventory and timing. Often, a dealer can be more flexible at the end of a month, quarter and year or at the end of the model year as the new models are arriving.

Agree. I just placed my order and feel that anything around 6% is a great deal for my area in Seattle. More than that is exceptional. The inventory on TDI'S is low here and S-Lines are nonexistant.

Ok, it's sounding like the $52,300 is about the right "fair purchase price" for the Daytona Gray Q5 TDI, S-line, Sport Interior, MMI, wheel locks that MSRP'd for somewhere around $55,600.

Just ordered one a couple weeks ago at Barrier and got the Audi vendor discount (MSFT) and $1K loyalty. I agree that you really can't get the TDIs optioned right off the lots.
