Burning Oil ?
Most of these quickie lube centers are notorious for using the lowest cost API oils which is totally not what your Q5 needs. Same goes for oil filters.
To maintain warranty, if that's a concern, the car needs to use a 502.00 spec oil. Until that's achieved, all bets are off.
You need to identify what they poured into our car before you declare there's a problem.

Go get the proper oil and filter. Burning that much oil will foul the plugs and create a lot of deposits on the valves and combustion chamber, that on a direct injected engine, won't go away very quick.
Honestly, I wouldn't use a cheap oil change place on any modern car. They are all getting a lot more sensitive because of higher performance and light piston rings to increase economy.

I've lost count of the number of times I've seen drain plug or filter tightening be the reason for losing oil from oil change places...especially if it's a car they aren't normally used to working on. When it's all you do all day long, you can crank through almost on just muscle memory for "standard", high volume car models you've done 100 times before. It seems drop-dead simple to tighten stuff up, but throw an unusual car in the mix, and chances for mistake get higher.
My $0.02 based on being around way too much of that stuff through HS and college...
Good luck
