I was given a 2020 Q3 loaner recently... outside mirrors has been “downsized”. Much smaller than the ones in my 2015...

wonder if any of you are gonna try a retrofit anytime soon😎

Default Trusting Mirrors

Mirrors properly positioned are the best way to go. For many yrs I lived in a 40 ft bus RV & towed a SUV. All total about 60 ft long. Once you break a habit turning your head (taking your eyes off the road) you will be safer.

The car does have the side light signal to let the driver know that a car is beside you - but this just seems gimmicky, like a legal disclaimer in case Audi gets sued because of the blind spot issue. So sorry I purchased this car. Its one of those things you don't know until you start driving in local and highway traffic.
I had the same feeling,at first with my Q5,but after a short time you get used to it,& importantly trust it. Recommend adjusting the brightness control to highest level. My wife,75, also has a Q5 & has no problem w/ Blind Spot.

Buy one of those little round stick on mirrors (about an inch in diameter) and put it in the lower outside corner of your outside mirror. I does a nice job of letting you know that a car is along side you.

I have no problem as I turn my head far around quickly glancing out the rear side glass every time I need to see if a car is along side of me. It's just a natural thing for me.

You are not old--just well seasoned. I am almost old. I started driving @ 14 & have at least 1.5 million miles & 75 yrs of driving behind me. Cars have always been my main hobby, although I have strayed several times.
Last May I took a 1700 mi road trip. Can still knock off 500 mi/day. Be well. Be safe.

My wife and I usually stop at 450 as we travel with our dog requiring more frequent stops for walks. Which is good for us as well. You be well and safe too.
