All right all you folks that don't have one of these (non-prestige owners?) check it out! It slides right into existing slots in the roof of the glove box. Forty-five bux is pricey but it's super-high quality and consists of metal, elastic netting, some sort of leather-like thumb/tab and the felt hardboard.

don't you guys have a built-in plastic drawer in your glovebox that slides in/out where you can place your ipod et al?

What about the slide out Ipod tray on the left side of the glove box? Do not all Q5s have this?

Edit : Posted at same time as previous post didn't see it in time... starting to think 09 build date 2010s perhaps didnt have ipod trays?

Its weird, some did and some didn't. Some have a little shelf there, some the slide out tray and others like mine had nothing. Its like Audi couldn't make up their mind or kept running out of these components in production but pressed on anyway due to demand.

Nope, no tray or shelf in our glovebox. I've got my entire iPod uploaded to the MMI's Jukebox, but no way will I put my 14 year old daughter's "music" on the Jukebox! Her iPod will go in the fancy new pouch.

Thanks, I just ordered one. I have a 2010 Prestige from Dec 09. What does the sliding look like? Is there a part number??

Don't know the part # but mine is a plastic tray that slides out of a small compartment in the upper left side of the glove box. Not sure if you could order the actual tray since it seems to be part of an extra built in piece included inside the glove box. The tray has a rubberized plastic piece on it so the Ipod doesn't slide around. I haven't inspected it super closely though, I just assumed all Q5s had this. I think my MY10 was built in March/2010, perhaps this is why it came with it, not sure...

Is the iPod cable long enough to reach to the left side of the glove box? Mine's too short. Did Audi supply different cable lengths for cars with the shelf/drawer?
