Mirror tinting panorama roof?
its for the wife and i know the panorama roof could/will be an issue as she is not a fan of the sun lol
anyone tint their glass? or more specifically anyone use the mirror tint on it? seems like it would help keep the car cool during the summer months as well by reflecting light and since its on the roof no one will see the cheesy mirror finish

Good Luck with your new Q5
I've read that the tint absorbs heat and that causes the glass to fracture. I've never heard much about mirror tinting. I would think the mirror tinting would make a great idea. I put mirror tints on a house I once lived in and our electric bill dropped by about 30%, so I know mirror tint can make a huge difference.
Another discussion of moon roof tinting dangers.
We had 2 VAG cars with panorama and got both tinted with darkest 5% tint and had no issues.
I'm not sure how well the mirror works on panorama as the roof haves factory tint in the glass and to use the mirror effect (to reflect the rays back) would mean you need to install the film on outside of the glass.

Mirror tint works just like regular tint and is done on the inside. I've applied mirror tint before. I noticed a dramatic difference in the cooling, but my local tint shop warned me against it. They would have not warned me against it unless they had to foot the bill to repair somebody else's moon roof.
