'15 B&O subwoofer location
We bought a CPO 3.0T Q5 2 months ago. It's a Premium Plus model with B&O, Technology Package and S-Line. I really wanted a TDI Prestige but couldn't find one at a decent price.
Can someone confirm where the subwoofer is located? All pics I can find show it mounted inside the spare tire, though those pics may be of the standard audio system. While installing a trailer hitch I realized there is no sub inside the spare, just a 2-conductor Bimba connector. Is my sub missing? If so, hopefully the dealer who sold us the car will get us one. Or is the B&O sub, or subs, located elsewhere?
Many Thanks!

No that sounds like a clear case of sub-theft - just kidding. That's where it resides on all Q5 s So someone removed it and you're seeing the 2P connector.

Thanks, Murray. The dealer where we purchased it is 40 miles away. I went by our nearby dealership where they were able to pull up a parts diagram by VIN showing the sub's existence. I then called our salesman at Audi South Atlanta. He just called back and said they have a sub in stock and I could go by and get it installed without an appointment. We have no idea what happened to the original but they're taking my word for it and not charging me. BTW it's a $ 484 part.
I'd actually been pretty happy with the sound quality but thought the bass was a little boomy. I didn't think it was quite as good as the Harmon Kardon premium audio in my '12 BMW 535 so it will be interesting to hear the difference.

Merton well that's a good result.Sounds like you have a reasonable dealer. As to the $ 484 part well that's a bit rich ! I'm sure that Audi would love to get that much for a component that many Chinese would be ashamed of producing, diving back into the trench !

After waiting about 6 minutes, without an appointment, the dealer installed the sub. I was willing to do it myself. After installation I turned the bass down a notch (3dB?) and it now is less boomy and lower bass is much better. It now sounds better than the Harmon Kardon system in my 535Xi. The HK system needs an EQ point at 40 or 50 hz instead of its lowest set point of 100 hz.
Murray, how's your GTV-6? Another one is still on my bucket list, but after a GTV or BMW 3.0CS or another 635/M6.
