For removable carpets, I soak them in water with a little bit of soft cleaner and some C L R. After 30 min, all the calcium is gone, then I rinse them in clear water and let them dry suspended.

For the carpets in the car, I use the same mix but in a higher concentration and brush the calcium spots with a carpet brush. After, I rinse the mix as much as I can with clear water and suck it dry with a shop vac. This removes all the stains but you need to do it several times for the calcium build ups.

Default all weather mats

We got our Q5 a month ago and got all weather rubberized mats for the winter. Such a life saver for keeping the car clean. I am getting rubber mats for our other car before next winter.

I am getting my Q5 this friday (three days earlier than expected). It will have the standard mats, I didn't pay for anything else.

However the receipe for cleaning the mats was used on for different vehicles: Honda Accord, Jeep Grand Cherokee limited, Dodge Caravan, and a Mazda Protegé (all my previous cars...) And it worked great with all of them. Of course on the mats made of fabric. For the rubberized ones, I normally clean them using mild soap, and for tough spots, I spray a little bit of wheel cleaner. Outside of the car of course!

I have the all-weather mats because the dealer ordered them with the car by mistake and I said "why not?" - they are really nice and I think definitely a worthwhile investment. Of course I'm not in the snow belt so rain and a little bit of snow is all they have seen, but they just add peace of mind and look pretty good IMO (not as good as the standard carpets, I'll admit).
