The seat warmers in our 2012 are barely noticeable. Delearship said they turned the heat down on the newer Q5s. They are terrible in my opinion; it's the only thing I don't like about our Q5 so far. I never even thought to test them on the test drive given how great the heaters are in my VW GTI. In a cold climate good seat heaters are great because they tend to heat up very quckly, ie. well before the heater starts giving out any real heat.

They are barely noticeable on our 2012. I leave them on 6 all the time -- even if it's warm out. I can feel a tiny bit of heat, but just barely. It seems like there is extremely wide variation between cars from the comments here -- some roast and some barely simmer.

My girlfriend's 2006 A4 has seat warmers that will just about burn you on 6 (she absolutely loves them as she get's cold in any weather).
She is very disappointed with the 2012 seat warmers. Barely noticeable.
Doesn't bother me much as we are in south florida and not too much of a need for them

I agree with others. I have a 2009 and it will 'roast' if I turn it up further (don't get me wrong, I like the flexibility of having the option). If you do a search there are posts from last year (or previous potentially) with this exact topic addresses (where Audi reduced it on new Q5's).

The seat warmers are a MAJOR disappointment on my 2011 Q5. I wish I had roasters, like other Audis and VWs.
They only get barely warm at level 6. My Volvo C30 seems to be better, and Volvo is known for lukewarm seats.
I bought my car during a heat wave, so I didn't test them. I assumed that the seat heaters would be like previous Audis and VWs I've experienced. Big mistake.
If you don't get fertility issues from your seat heaters, then they're not hot enough!
Seriously, though, a therapeutically hot seat is one of the great driving pleasures... and combine that with cool/cold air from the sunroof... mmm, nice.

They're almost complete rubbish. The Q5's seat heater on the highest lever "6" seems about equivalent to my RS4 on "1".
What is it about heaters and Audi? The front seat heaters are ****, and rear seat heaters or steering wheel heaters aren't even an option. BMW knows better, why not Audi?
