Default Still amazed by my TDI fuel economy!

I just returned from a brief trip to Syracuse, NY. From where I live in Central NH, it's about 5 hours and 290 miles each way. I'd put about 80 miles on the tank since I had filled it before leaving on this drive. I did the entire roundtrip without having to stop once for fuel, and still had an indicated range of 20 miles by the time I got home. The trip computer recorded an average of 37.9mpg for the return trip, and after refueling Fuelly confirmed it was my best tank. 34.3 mpg average with a distance traveled of 644 miles. Not too shabby..

Fuelly shows me averaging almost 32 MPG from day 1 with 31K miles on it. The engine and car are wonderful and we've taken several road trips, driving to Myrtle Beach, Arches National Park and numerous points in between. It's a shame the performance and efficiency are all a big sham by Audi and VW. If the emissions where up to standard, I'd dare say it is just about the perfect auto.

We also like our 3015 Q5 TDI.
Just finished a 3,000 trip and averaged 35MPG in comfort. Along the way, we safely blew past a couple of trucks playing games.

We expect Audi to honor what that's advertised when we bought the car by fixing it, without hurting reliability, durability, economy and performance while making us whole on any added maintenance.

That's simply not possible. You will see some loss in performance and economy but it will hopefully still be close to Audi's original performance and mpg ratings. From what I understand, the Audi/VW cheater diesels were exceeding the ratings.

I wish Audi much success in resolving this debacle and restoring their damaged reputation
If Audi fails to meet what they promised when we bought our car, I expect them to compensate us fairly.
Many of us will hold them accountable for that.

I have a 2014 TDI and just wrapped up a 3750mile road trip. I averaged 31 MPG, 99%+ of it on highways at 75 MPH. I thought that was pretty good, but you all are getting better. Any recommendations? I'd love to see 34+ MPG.

Thanks!

My opinion, drop your speed a little to about 70 mph. I think the load in the car, tire pressure, roof rack or lack of are all factors. I have gotten 34 mph with two and three people in car, but not tried with luggage, etc.

Why even bother with the fix if you are happy with what you have now!

So would we all, and it can be done, IF you don't mind rolling @70 mph instead of 75mph+.

At 78-79 mph, we get 33-ish mpg.
