I bought this 2015 TDI brand new and am the original owner. All maintenance or whatever was required per manual and recommendations at the dealer (filters, oil changes, ad blue, tire rotations, and alignment and such except brake pads as they are is great condition). This vehicle is rarely used and is mostly garage kept and only used for long road trips. Currently shy of 40k but I had not driven the vehicle for about 2 months (battery was being charged) and just took it out of the garage and noticed the ESC fault come on as well as TPMS. I am just worried if this ABS module issue? Why at such low mileage and why now? I am using I think 21 or 22 in rims. All I have done was change tires to Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 15K miles ago by FireStone Complete Auto Care that also comes with lifetime alignment etc. and was going to have them diagnose the issue since I was going to go there for alignment if it needed it and check the sensors (I go every 6 months to get it calibrated).
Things to know:
1. Took the vehicle to Audi dealership to get oil change and they rotated the tires recently a week ago, lights were not on at the time. Can't go back as they are about an hour and 30 minutes (out of state) from where I currently am.
2. The car is now shaking or at least I can't go past 70-75mph without the steering wheel vibrating and shaking as well as the whole car. This started as soon as the tires were rotated. I plan to change the tires back to where they were.
3. I am planning to take the vehicle on a long road strip (about 1,400 miles) cross country today in a couple of hours as brakes etc all work. I checked the tire pressures and they are all correct per specs.
4. Don't have access to the Vag-Com to check faults as the wires are at the destination I am heading to so was going to check it there.
5. I suspect ABS module or sensor on the rear based on my research? Any suggestions on what I should check and where?
Sounds like you have a wheel/tire badly out of balance.....if it shaking bad enough it's possible it would throw off the wheel speed sensor, which is used for both TPMS and ESC.

Thank you, don't know why the vehicle keeps going out of balance a lot when it's used on highway or interstate roads only. I try to avoid pot holes as much as possible. But thank you, I will most likely rotate the tires back and get it aligned and see if that corrects the issue.
Edit:
I will note that when I bought the car new, it was having soo much tire noise like it was a jet engine or something but I dealt with it until I changed tires with alignment and has been so quiet until the obvious tire rotations done that has caused this issue.
Perhaps a bent wheel, etc. See if you can find a shop that uses a Hunter Road Force loaded balancer.
That's what I suspect and will have to get that checked out if that's the cause.

So before the trip, I ended up rotating the tires back to where they originally were and my god the ride is back to being smooth as butter but if going at 80mph, I can hear odd sound and I suspect one of the rims/tires. Overall, my trip is going pleasantly. Would've drove me crazy driving the car shaking etc.
During my trip, I drove approximately 1000 miles. I saw the ESC Fault go away and come back after a couple hundred miles but the tpms would stay on. I would also note that while rotating tires back, there was lots of brake dust all over the wires etc. Would that be a cause? Can someone point which one is the sensor as the only sensor I noticed other than the headlight leveling was the connector near the brake caliper and lines.
Here is picture while driving, I saw the ESC Fault go away suddenly at 237 miles into the trip. Came back on at 450 mile mark. I will use the Ross tech cable and scan for Faults next.
Currently still on the road and just took a break but will update after I arrive.
Have you gone into the MMI and told it to reset the TPMS?
It should have reset after driving 1000 miles but maybe it needs to be told so.
This is for a pre-facelift but should be the same or close enough, #28 and #6 in these diagrams.
Yes, I reset and stored the pressure readings after putting the tires back from the rotation. 44 front 49 back.

Quick update: Finished my trip, however issue persisted all the way but more.
The Brake light started turning on and off now and even the adaptive light defective malfunction. The adaptive light malfunction turns on only when the brake light turns on. At this point it's a Christmas tree on the instrument cluster. This just started after like 20 minutes of my drive left for the journey.
So just scanned the vehicle and here are the Faults. Can't believe so many faults and all seem to be related to abs module and or possibly battery? Seems like battery is not providing proper voltage? I will say that I did use an inverter hooked up to the vehicle for laptop use for work. May have drained battery and caused electrical issues? Although this was never an issue in the past couple of years. Is it time to replace the battery?

I think I'm suspecting the battery. The voltage draws are low to modules, especially to the wheel speed sensor but someone with more knowledge can chime in? Here is the code after I waited a day and cleared the code the day before and drove for a few more miles and today did a rescan and here are the current fault codes:

He noted that the TPMS light is on due to this. I am very pleased to know that all other codes are gone from the scan. Unfortunately the TPMS and ESC lights remain on. I told them that I was on trip so they advised to have it checked out when I got back from trip. The vehicle is safe to drive (took a big risk to even drive...) They couldn't fix the sensor for that part as they did not have it in stock and I had to leave in a day or two anyways. So this is the inspection sheet and the comments from the technician:
Is that code for the wheel speed sensor that is still showing an issue from the brake booster sensor? I also don't know which brake booster sensor it is or where it is located from which tire location or is this just one thing that is in the engine bay?
Did you ever manage to solve this issue? I have the EXACT same issue. Had car on battery charger after battery went low and now I have those exact lights on my dash. Still figuring it out.
